Legacy Match Law Enforcement Request & Cooperation Protocol

Legacy Match is committed to complying with applicable laws while protecting user privacy. This document outlines how law enforcement requests are handled.
 
1. Scope
This protocol applies to all requests from law enforcement agencies, government authorities, and legally authorized investigators seeking user data, account information, or platform activity from Legacy Match.
 
2. Legal Requirement for Requests
Legacy Match will only disclose user information when presented with valid legal process, which may include:

• Subpoenas

• Court orders

• Search warrants

• Other valid legal demands issued under applicable law

Informal requests, phone calls, or emails without proper legal documentation will not be considered sufficient for disclosure.
 
3. Required Information
All requests must include:

• Name of requesting agency

• Name and badge/ID of requesting officer (if applicable)

• Official contact information

• Legal basis for the request

• Specific user account identifiers (e.g., email, username, user ID)

• Scope of requested data

• Time period relevant to the request

• Valid legal documentation (signed and issued by a competent authority)
   

4. Submission Method
Law enforcement requests must be submitted through:

Requests submitted through other channels (support tickets, social media, phone calls) may not be processed.
 
5. Data We May Disclose
When legally required, Legacy Match may provide:

• Account registration information (e.g., name, email address, phone number if provided)

• Profile information submitted by the user

• IP addresses and access logs

• Subscription and payment metadata (limited to billing records)

• Messaging content, if applicable and stored on the platform

• Device and usage information
   

6. Emergency Disclosure
Legacy Match may disclose limited user information without a formal legal process if we believe in good faith that:

• There is an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm

• Disclosure is necessary to prevent harm or assist emergency response efforts

Such disclosures will be documented and reviewed after the fact.
 
7. User Notification
Where legally permitted, Legacy Match may notify affected users before or after disclosing their data to law enforcement. We may delay or withhold notification if legally prohibited or if doing so would compromise an investigation.
 
8. Data Retention
Legacy Match retains user data only as long as necessary to operate the platform or comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on account activity and applicable law.
 
9. International Requests
Requests from outside the United States must comply with applicable international treaties, mutual legal assistance procedures, or other recognized cross-border legal frameworks.
 
10. Good Faith Compliance
Legacy Match complies with valid legal requests in good faith and reserves the right to reject or challenge requests that are overly broad, unclear, or legally insufficient.
